Dr. Minuk’s Winnipeg SkinClinic for PRP Facial Rejuvenation & Vampire Facial
If you’re looking for a natural way to improve your skin’s texture, elasticity, fine lines and wrinkles, look no further than Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) for facial rejuvenation. PRP works with your body’s natural healing processes to repair and rejuvenate the skin. The same technology used to treat hair loss effectively improves your skin’s health and appearance, restoring vitality from within. Here’s how it works.
The Natural Treatment
The treatment involves the extraction of a small sample of your own blood, which is then placed in a centrifuge (spins the blood) to separate your red blood cells from your plasma. Our Nurse removes the concentrated PRP (Platelet-Rich Plasma) collection from the spun tube.
How It Works
Your plasma contains platelets has essential growth factors that promote collagen production, healing, and tissue repair, among other things. The treatment immediately gets to work rejuvenating the treated areas and producing a more radiant appearance.
PRP can be injected into the facial or neck skin or through micro-needling (commonly called the Vampire Facial). We also use PRP in laser treatments to improve healing and skin texture.
What is a Vampire Facial?
When PRP is used with micro-needling in combination the treatment has been labelled as the Vampire facial.

What it Treats
PRP can effectively treat fine lines and wrinkles, mild acne scarring and skin texture, dull or dry skin, surgical scars, and even stretch marks. Commonly treated areas include the face, the back of the hands, and the neck and décolleté. PRP can be a one-time treatment, but for optimal results, we may recommend a series of several treatments spaced 6 to 8 weeks apart. Once your initial treatment series is complete, maintenance treatments may also be recommended every 9 to 12 months.
Lower eyelid crepey skin, fine lines and discolouration are common PRP treatment areas.
Recovery and Results
PRP is a safe and natural treatment. You may experience some swelling, bruising, and tenderness at the injection sites, but this usually resolves within a week and can be easily covered with makeup after the initial 24 hours post-treatment. The benefits of PRP can be long-lasting.
