DOES THE LOSS OF YOUTHFUL FACIAL VOLUME, DEEP WRINKLES OR OTHER STRUCTURAL ISSUES BOTHER YOU?

Dermal fillers provide an increasingly popular non-surgical solution for facial rejuvenation and facial contouring with minimal to no down time.

WHAT ARE DERMAL FILLERS?

Dermal fillers replace volume and structure in the face lost through the aging process. Dermal fillers are generally used to treat folds, creases, and deeper lines that appear over time. They can be used to improve facial proportions, add lost volume, enhance your lips, contour your jaw line, and even enhance the natural look of your nose without surgery. At Victoria Park Medispa, our highly trained nurse injectors will determine the best treatment plan according to your facial symmetry and proportions to ensure natural, beautiful results.

The leading brands of dermal fillers include Juvederm®, Restylane®, Revanesse® and Belotero®. The products are specialized formulations of hyaluronic acid, a substance that is naturally present in the human body.

HOW LONG IS A DERMAL FILLER TREATMENT?

A treatment usually takes around thirty to forty five minutes depending on the area treated, following an in-depth consultation with our highly trained staff.

DOES IT HURT?

Treatment is relatively pain-free. There may be some temporary soreness or swelling post-treatment. Topical numbing cream can be applied in office prior to your treatment to help with pain management.

HOW SOON CAN I SEE RESULTS?

Treatment results can be noticed immediately and generally last between eight and eighteen months

HOW DO I GET STARTED?

A consultation at Victoria Park Medispa is complementary. During this visit you will meet with one of our highly trained nurse injectors, they will perform a complete review of your age, facial structure, skin type and the improvements you would like to see. He will then walk you through the various options that could have the greatest benefit for you, review before and after photos, and develop a treatment program together.

HOW MUCH DOES DERMAL FILLER TREATMENTS COST?

Treatment with dermal fillers can start at about $550 but is dependent on the types and amounts of products used to give you the optimum natural-looking rejuvenated result.

CAN YOU COMBINE DERMAL FILLERS WITH BOTOX®?

Yes. As they achieve different purposes, depending on your needs, we will often combine a muscle relaxer like Botox® Cosmetic, Dysport® or Nuceiva® with a dermal filler. Botox® relaxes the muscle to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, generally around the forehead and eyes. Dermal fillers replace lost volume in the face and can enhance facial structure. Together, they can create a balanced, youthful and more rested appearance.

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN DERMAL FILLERS AND WRINKLE RELAXERS?

Over time, the muscles above and between your eyebrows repeatedly contract, causing wrinkles to form. Wrinkle relaxers are generally injected around these muscles. They relax the muscle for a period of four to six months so that the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles is reduced, creating a refreshed or relaxed appearance.

Dermal fillers replace volume and structure lost through the aging process. The leading brands in this category include Juvederm®, Restylane®, Revanesse®, Belotero®, and Radiesse®. Dermal fillers are generally used to replace volume in lips and reduce the appearance of deep folds and lost volume in the face.

Wrinkle relaxers and dermal fillers are often used in combination in different areas for an optimal result. Our physician specialists are very careful in the application of these products to avoid a frozen look or an overly treated look which can be the result of their use in the wrong hands.

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN HYALURONIC ACID PRODUCTS LIKE JUVEDERM, RESTYLANE, AND BELOTERO AND OTHER PRODUCTS LIKE SCULPTRA AND RADIESSE?

All these products are known as dermal fillers. They help replace lost volume, generally in the face, and can fill lines and wrinkles. They vary in thickness and duration so they can be used in different areas of the face and for different client needs.

Hyaluronic acid is a natural substance which our bodies produce to cushion and protect our joints and connective tissue. Hyaluronic acid fillers are extremely popular and generally last from six to twelve months before maintenance treatment is required.

Radiesse is calcium-based dermal filler which lasts longer than dermal fillersIt’s a product which is generally used in areas where more structure or shaping is needed, especially popular for jawline shaping.

Sculptra uses poly-l-lactic acid which stimulates your body’s own natural collagen production. The result is a very natural looking increase in volume which develops over a period of months. Unlike hyaluronic acid and Radiesse injections, Sculptra injections are not given during one time period. Most patients receive three treatments with each treatment session scheduled several weeks after the preceding one. Also, because collagen formation taketime, you may not start to see the results from Sculptra injections until several weeks after your treatment session. The good news is that Sculptra’s effects can last for over two years.

Finally, unlike hyaluronic acid which can be taken out with something called hyaluronidase, Radiesse and Sculptra cannot, so you need to wait until they naturally fade away if you are not happy with the result. That is why it’s important to work with an experienced injector to ensure the optimal results.
