WHAT IS A PULSE DYE LASER?

Pulse Dye Laser or PDL is laser that delivers it’s energy in pulses and a dye is used to generate laser beams of different colors. PDL energy targets hemoglobin, the red protein in blood cells in the blood vessels thus reducing redness in the treated area. PDL is used to treat dilated blood vessels, facial veins, broken capillaries, cherry angioma’s or red spots and Port Wine Stain birthmarks. PDL is sometimes referred to as a vascular laser.

HOW DOES PULSE DYE LASER FEEL?

Most clients describe the sensation of similar to the light snap of an elastic band against the skin during treatment.

HOW SOON CAN I SEE RESULTS?

Results generally appear a few days following treatment and improve with each treatment. Patients with facial redness and blood vessels will typically require an average of 2-3 treatments. Patients with Port Wine Stains may need 6-10 treatments.

WHAT IS A Nd:YAG?

Nd:YAG (neodymium-doped yttrium aluminum garnet) is laser that has a wavelength of 1064 nm which has the capability to reach deeper layers of skin tissue than other types of lasers.

Nd:YAG is used to treat vascular lesions such as spider veins, cherry angiomas and telangiectasia on the face as well as pigmented lesions such as brown age spots, solar lentigines and freckles.
