A medical non-surgical facelift
Thermage (also called ThermaCool) is an exciting,

The Thermage procedure uses a patented radiofrequency (RF) technology called ThermaCool™. It has been clinically proven to tighten and gently lift skin to smooth out wrinkles and renew facial contours.
Who are candidates ?
Candidates for Thermage are usually between the ages of 35 and 65 looking
to improve wrinkles and signs of aging.
What area can be treated ?
Thermage can be used to reduce crow's feet and eyelid laxity, improve and
define jaw-lines, tighten sagging cheeks and neck skin as well as well as the
brow.
Do all areas need to be treated?
Dr. Minuk will assess you in consultation and determine
whether small areas or
larger areas of the face and neck will benefit from treatment. We understand that
everyone has different problems and concerns; hence the need for a customized
treatment plan.
How does it work?
The radiofrequency (RF) energy uniformly heats the dermis while cooling and
protecting the epidermis. It is designed to cause immediate collagen contraction
followed by new collagen production which occurs over a period of time.
What does a Thermage procedure feel like?
Each time treatment is delivered, there is an immediate cool sensation followed
by a brief hot sensation, followed again by a cool sensation. An anesthetic cream
applied one hour before the procedure numbs the surface of the skin to help
make the treatment more comfortable. Dr. Minuk may offer additional measures
to increase your comfort.
How long will the Thermage procedure take?
Depending on the size of the area treated, the procedure itself may take
anywhere from a few minutes to an hour. We may require that you arrive an hour
before your procedure for administration of an anesthetic cream.
When can I return to my normal activities?
You may return to your normal activities usually by the next day. Minimal redness is seen in some patients but in most cases it
disappears shortly after treatment. Heat-related complications may occur but are uncommon. There is no special care needed after treatment. As part of your skin care program, sunscreen is recommended.
When will I notice results?
Tightening improvements can be seen immediately and maximize gradually over 6 months after a single
treatment session.
How long will the effects of the Thermage procedure last?
The Thermage procedure causes an immediate tightening of the collagen
structure with additional skin tightening over time. Unpublished reports by
experienced physicians indicate that results may last as long as 18 months or
longer, based on the patient's natural aging process.
