In-office treatment for tattoo removal

Getting a tattoo is very popular - but so is removing
them.  In fact, there are 17 parlors in Winnipeg that
apply tattoos but only one Laser Centre to remove
them - and that is our Centre. Dr. Minuk uses laser
systems specifically designed to eliminate most
tattoo colours and the results are permanent.

Our Centre has performed thousands of tattoo removal treatments with many
satisfied clients. With today's laser technology your tattoo can be removed
safely and quickly and in most cases, without leaving a scar.

Questions you may have about Laser Tattoo removal:

Is the process painful?

The laser emits light in very short flashes of light called pulses. The impact of the
energy from the powerful pulse of light is similar to the snap of a thin rubber band
or specks of hot bacon grease on the skin. You may experience mild discomfort
during a treatment session but the large majority of all patients do not require
anesthesia.

How many treatments will it take to remove the tattoo?

On the average, professional multi-coloured tattoos require 6-10 treatments,
while amateur tattoos usually require 3-5 treatments, all spaced approximately
one month apart. The number of treatments depends on the amount and type of
ink used and the depth of the ink in the skin.

Will the tattoo completely disappear?

In many cases, yes. Greater than 95 percent fading of the tattoo may be
accomplished. Older tattoos and those of India ink, black blue and red colors
usually fade the most. However, it is very important to know that over 100 tattoo
inks are in use worldwide today, none of which are regulated by the FDA. Not
knowing which tattoo ink, how deep or how much was used, makes it impossible
for us to predict the degree of removal on any given tattoo.

What type of post-treatment care is necessary?

An antibacterial ointment and a dressing will be applied to the area. The treated
area should be kept clean with continued application of any ointment given to
you by our Centre. A shower can be taken the next day, although the treated
area should not be scrubbed
